Homeland, Charlton County, Georgia
Near Folkston lies Homeland. Founded as a northern colony in 1906 - especially for old Union soldiers - it was incorporated as the Town of Homeland on April 08, 1909 and as the City of Homeland on April 08, 1968. Original founders of the 1906 Colony Company include G. W. Moore - who had Camden County connections - and C. W. Waughtel. It was created from the Vickery and Fort tracts.
